Creation of safe breeding opportunities

Concrete conservation actions introduced in project will help reverse negative population trends of target species affected by IAS within project ares.

Implemented conservation action for creation of safe breeding opportunities for target birds:

• 5 constructed safe islands within SPA Dunajské luhy, 785 m2 suitable safe breeding habitats created
• 3 locations with installed electrical fences against IAS penetration into breeding colonies in length of 1200 m
• 1 reconstructed protection dike within SPA Dubnické štrkovisko in length of 700m
• 21 adapted solar charged signalization lights at signpost islands within SPA Dunajské luhy
• 50 platforms installed in wetlands for support the nesting of Black Tern
• 30 turfs translocation for support vegetation renewing at 20 ha of wetlands
• 3 Plant Banks (200 m2) created for further plants translocation on damaged habitats
