American Mink

A semi‑aquatic carnivore originating from North America. It poses a threat to ground‑nesting waterbirds and is capable of destroying entire colonies of gull‑like species. Colonies of the Common Tern along the Danube are particularly vulnerable, and negative experiences with the presence of American mink have been documented in these areas.
